It is often said that family members, parents, siblings, are the most reliable people, the ones who would
never, ever betray us, and who would do anything to make us feel good. Unfortunately, this is not
always the case in reality, because there are cases when it is precisely the people closest to us who
disappoint us deeply.
What leaves a bitter disappointment is the idea of no longer feeling confident with these family
members. It’s something the young man at the center of this story has sadly experienced. Let’s find out
why. Known on the web under the username El Etor, this man posted a short video on Tik Tok in which
he confides his sadness following a gesture from his mother. Having left Mexico for the United States in
search of fortune and work, our man said that he always sends money to his family so that they can live
in peace. One of the last times he did, he even asked his mother for a specific thing, which she didn’t
respect.
«I am very sad because I sent 100,000 pesos to my mother, asking her to start work on my house, and
she told me that she had given 70,000 pesos to my brother so that he could buy a new car.» This
situation affected him deeply, making him feel bad.
It is always nice to know that a child is doing his best for his parents, to leave them wanting for nothing
and to repay them the love received, but it is also true that parents should not feel authorized to take
decisions based on their own thoughts and without taking into account the feelings of others, especially
when children have entered adulthood. This mother apparently did not consider it necessary to consult
him before taking most of the money sent and giving it to her brother. Of course, the latter told him that
as soon as he had the opportunity, he would return everything to him, but it is the main gesture that
disappoints.
Granted, the woman saw a need from her other son and tried to help as best she could, but the money
had been sent by the man in this story for a very specific purpose. That’s why it would have been good
to call him and ask him if it was possible to make this loan, before actually putting it into practice. That
would have been enough to avoid disappointment for the man and, perhaps, a loss of confidence in his
mother.
The millions of users who watched the video were equally bitter, agreeing with the man and advising
him, in some cases, to cut ties with the family. Others, on the other hand, were a little more
understanding, advocating a confrontation with the two before making any hasty decisions.
