The mother spreads the food on aluminum foil so as not to do the dishes: «The children ate
everything!»

One of the most tiring and annoying household chores is undoubtedly washing the dishes.
Unfortunately, it is also the only way to be able to eat from the same dishes every day without having to
resort to disposable cutlery and plates. It gets even more tiring after a long day of work, cooking dinner
and looking after the kids. That’s why the mother in this story came up with a good plan to avoid having
to wash all the dishes for dinner and, at the same time, please her children and her husband.
Rebecca Cubberly, a 28-year-old mother from Telford, Shropshire, had an idea to avoid washing up after
dinner. Very tired, she decided to organize a slightly unconventional dinner one evening: instead of
serving the food on the usual plates, she covered the table with a layer of aluminum foil and placed the
different dishes directly on it. . From the photo she posted in a Facebook group, one can easily guess
that the family ate Mexican food that night. This method was perfect not only because it saved Rebecca
from continuing to struggle in the kitchen after dinner, but also because it made the children happy and
even her husband, who was enthusiastic about helping himself. directly on the table.

«I normally spend about half an hour cleaning everything up after a meal like this,» Rebecca comments,
«and that’s a lot, especially after I’ve already spent a lot of time cooking after a long day.» Who wouldn’t
agree with this mommy? The themed party with food on aluminum foil worked so well that Rebecca
assured that she would do it again, maybe dedicating the evening to something else, maybe be a pizza
theme or any other appetizing meal. This way, Rebecca can carve out some time when she doesn’t have
to do chores and maybe she can spend more time with the kids: «I have this extra time that I normally
spend doing the dishes that I can spend with the kids. Plus, not doing the dishes and not plugging in a
dishwasher also means saving on the electricity bill, which is not to be completely underestimated.

To those who criticize her for saving electricity but polluting a little more, Rebecca replies that she
recycles the aluminum foil she uses. Moreover, this mother ensures the success of this method: her
children ate everything, down to the last bite! «They had a great time,» adds Rebecca. «You can take
your children to dinner in the restaurant and it will cost you £50, whereas it only cost me £5. We had as
much fun as if we went out!» concludes Rebecca.

And you, would you like to try a family dinner like this, with your children or grandchildren?
