«I want to kill myself» the moving video of Quaden, 9 years old, suffering from dwarfism and victim of
school harassment

Quaden, a 9-year-old Australian boy bullied at school because he has dwarfism, asks his mother for a
knife to end his life. His heartbreaking video has been viewed more than 21 million times on Facebook
and has gone viral and sparked support with the hashtag #WeStandForQuaden.

As far too often, the boy is the victim of school harassment from his classmates. The perpetual attacks
of the latter pushed Quaden to consider suicide. In a video filmed by his mother, we can see his son in
tears after school.

Quaden informs him that he wants to kill himself: “I want to kill myself. I want someone to kill me.» The
video demonstrates how harmful school bullying is for children. «Give me a knife, I want to kill myself, I
want to die now,» implores the crying little boy, in the images relayed by the online media Loopsider.

As the young Quaden sobs, his mother, Yarraka Bayles, behind the camera, speaks. “I want people to
know, parents, educators, teachers, that these are the effects of bullying […]. So please can you educate
your children, family and friends? Because it only takes one case and you will wonder why children
commit suicide, ”she asserts.

Quaden’s mother explains that she published these images with the aim that parents and teachers
become aware of the impact that school bullying can have on children. The boy has achondroplasia, a
form of dwarfism. For which he is harassed daily. She also denounces the lack of openness and
education on disability at school, while insisting that anti-harassment measures do not work.

The excerpt goes viral and hundreds of thousands of people express their support for little Quaden via
the hashtag “#WeStandForQuaden”, “we stand with Quaden”. In the United States, actor Brad Williams,
also suffering from dwarfism, launched a kitty to offer Quaden a trip to Disneyland. This Friday, February
21, €162,486 had been collected!

But that’s not all. The actors Hugh Jackman, the unforgettable Wolwerine and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the
villain of the series The Walking dead, gave their support to Quaden.

The star of the X-Men saga posted a video on his Twitter account, in which he reassures the boy:
“Quaden, you are stronger than you think. And no matter what, you have a friend in me. »

Another American actor wanted to post a message filled with love to Quaden. This is the actor Jon
Bernthal, main character in the series The Punisher. The father of a child the same age as Quaden, the
actor confides that children can be “horrible”. «You have a bunch of friends here in the world that you
haven’t met yet. We are here. You must know that. “, he continues.
